Dr. Michael Dagenais
Welcome to the Main Street Dental Team website. My hope is that the site will serve as a way for new and existing patients alike to learn a bit more about our dentists and staff and provide some basic dental information to answer some questions you may have.
I grew up in King City, Ontario and was interested in both school and sports from a young age. I attended St. Michael’s College for high school, which was a great experience. I graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 2010 and previously attended McMaster University completing a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science.
I truly enjoy the profession and strive each day to provide my patients with care and respect, as well as cutting edge dentistry. I attend numerous continuing education courses on a yearly basis to ensure I am up to date with the latest information and innovations from top educators and manufacturers.
One of the reasons I think our office is unique is the combination of our heritage home office alongside modern dentistry. As a patient of Main Street Dental Team you can rest assured that you will receive dental care that is consistent with up to date research all the while enjoying and relaxing in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. My goal is for all of our patients, new and old, to feel like family when they come to our office. We have assembled a great team of dentists and staff who are invested in making you feel at home and providing the highest quality dental treatment. I am always available to answer your questions and address concerns. Even if I am not in the office, I can assure you that our admin staff is great at getting a hold of me on my days off :).
In my spare time I am enjoying fatherhood, spending time with my wife and daughter. We live in Mount Albert and love outdoor activities as well as occasionally travelling. I play men’s league hockey once a week and do my best not to injure my hands. If time permits in the summer, I will sneak out for a round of golf. I look forward to meeting and chatting next time you are in the office!
Dr. Harvey Schwartz
At a very early age, I became keenly interested in dentistry. At age fourteen, after a series of visits to my dentist, Dr. Ron Kellen, I elected to pursue dentistry as a profession.
Soon after graduating from the University of Toronto, I decided to practice in Unionville and was the area’s first full-time dentist. As well, I was an instructor in the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry for many years. Furthermore, I was a founding member of Canada’s first volunteer dental clinic for seniors at UnionVilla, the local retirement residence.
Today, I enjoy many aspects of dentistry, and I continue to derive great satisfaction from maintaining the oral health of our senior population.
Dr. Joanna Huang
I’m happy to join the Main Street Dental Team and I hope to contribute to its long-standing history of excellent dental care. I graduated as a dentist with honours from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. Prior to studying dentistry, I received my B.Sc. with honours in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Waterloo.
I believe that patient education and disease prevention are the key components to great oral health and, as such, I am always happy to answer patients’ questions about their teeth. I encourage patients to take an active role in maintaining their oral health, and that includes flossing! My goal is to provide a comfortable environment in which we can create a beautiful smile for each patient.
In my free time, I enjoy trying new food and restaurants with my friends and family—just don’t ask me to cook!
HYGIENISTS AND ASSISTANTS
I have worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 20 years and I am fortunate to have been a part of the Main Street Dental Team for several years now. After first completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto, I graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at George Brown College in 1996.
I am a passionate Dental Hygienist and love what I do! I take every effort to provide care with a thorough yet gentle approach. I strive to empower patients to improve and maintain their oral health, as studies show a close correlation between the health of the mouth and the health of the body.
By attending continuing education programs on a regular basis, I stay up-to-date on new dental trends. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, at the gym and traveling.
Hi, my name is Conny. I am a dental hygienist and I’ve been involved in dentistry for the past 36 years. I began my career as a dental assistant and eventually became an instructor.
Currently, I educate patients to ensure that they maintain excellent oral health. I will recommend the best tools and techniques that you can use at home to remove gum-damaging plaque and maintain excellent oral health. By demonstrating proper techniques, I will help you face the world with fresh breath and a smile of which you can be proud (I’m a real stickler for getting the job done right!)
When I’m not at the office, I’m using chisels and saws at home as my hobbies include woodworking and furniture refinishing. My hope is to strengthen my fingers so that when I see you again, I’m in top shape! Hopefully, I’ll persuade you to use your floss!
I have been a dental hygienist for over 25 years, and now proudly work as a part of the Main Street Dental Team.
I first graduated in Scotland in 1985, before coming to Canada 14 years ago. During my career, I have enjoyed working in many different types of dental environments, from community service to a variety of private dental offices and most recently I spent 5 years teaching dental hygiene. I am very passionate about beautiful smiles, and look forward to helping you keep and maintain yours. I have a gentle touch, yet thorough and professional.
I can answer all your oral health questions with honesty and a wealth of knowledge that I have gained over the years. When I am not taking care of smiles, I enjoy cooking, reading, walking, music and movies.
Hi everyone! It seems like yesterday that I started working here, but actually it’s been 20 years since my first day! I enjoy being a dental assistant which provides a lot of variety, including ordering dental materials as well as chairside assisting.
I really appreciate the opportunities provided by the office; I am taken to all the conventions and seminars so that I can upgrade my skills and learn about the latest technologies and better materials for the benefit of our patients.
When I’m not at work, you can find me on the dance floor!
I have been working in the dental field for 25 years as a dental assistant / office administrator. I really enjoy the wonderful atmosphere here at The Main Street Dental Team. I thoroughly enjoy working with and conversing with all of our great patients, helping to provide everyone with good oral health.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and playing board games with my family. I love to watch my boys competing in the variety of sports they play, almost as much as a good episode of Coronation Street.
I graduated in 2010 from the Dental Administration program at Durham College. I was excited to join the Main Street Dental Team in April 2015 after acquiring five years of experience at other dental offices.
If you have any questions regarding your account, insurance, or would like to schedule an appointment I am happy to help! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with husband and daughter and playing soccer.
Hi there! My name is Sisley,
I joined the Main Street Dental Team in July 2015 as a full time office administrator. I have over 6 years of experience in the dental field. I have dedicated myself to my profession and patients. My desire here at Main Street Dental is to answer all the questions regarding your dental insurance, treatment plans and financial concerns. I will ensure you get the optimum level of customer care.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors in the sun and travelling to tropical countries.
See you at Main Street!
You can find me at the front desk of Main Street Dental on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I have been involved in dentistry for 20 years and I enjoy having the opportunity to meet and greet people. I also take pleasure in helping people to improve their oral health.
Outside of the office, I enjoy traveling and gardening very much. I recently renovated my garden and I am very excited about the number of new trees and the recent addition of new flowers. It’s a thrill for me to see the new plants growing nicely this spring. This is an ongoing educational process; I am still learning how to select, care for, and maintain a beautiful garden. This hobby is a lot of fun. I look forward to greeting you when you come in to join our happy, smiling, dental family. See you soon!
